How It Works

• Prevention: The product forms a chemical barrier in the soil that blocks weed seeds from developing root systems, stopping them before they can emerge from the ground.
• Safety: Because it targets only young, germinating roots, it will not harm your established turf.
• Limitations: It will not kill existing weeds, and it will also prevent any desirable grass seeds you plant from germinating until the barrier naturally breaks down.

Key Application Guidelines

• Timing: Apply in spring or fall when soil temperatures are between 55°F and 70°F.
• Watering In: Prodiamine must be activated by watering it in with approximately 0.5 inches of rain or irrigation shortly after application. Avoid applying it during heavy rainfall.
• Re-application: A single granular application typically provides around three months of weed protection.
• Over-application: While you should always follow the manufacturer's label instructions, applying slightly more than the recommended rate will generally not burn or damage your lawn — it will simply extend the period of weed protection.

Application Instructions

For Turfgrass:
Apply 1 to 2.25 tablespoons per 1,000 square feet.

Retreatment Interval

Retreatment may be performed every 3 to 8 months, depending on the application rate used.

This product is not available in: Alaska, Connecticut, or New York.

Important Use Precautions
