PROVIDES A DARK GREEN LAWN – This tall fescue grass seed mix produces healthy, dense, and visually stunning turf with a rich, dark-green color. The blend includes soft blade and soft touch tall fescue varieties, along with a Texas-Kentucky bluegrass hybrid, and offers natural resistance to insects and disease.
RETAINS MOISTURE – Featuring roots that can extend up to four feet deep and a protective waxy leaf coating, this turf-type tall fescue seed effectively retains moisture and minimizes evaporation. It stands up well to heavy foot traffic and thrives in both sunny and partially shaded areas, requiring a minimum of six hours of sunlight per day.
IDEAL GROWING CONDITIONS – The optimal time to plant is mid-August through mid-October, when the ground is still warm and nights begin to cool. Mid-March through mid-May is the second-best planting window. This seed produces a lawn with the lush appearance of sodded bluegrass but requires significantly less maintenance. Plant seed ¼ inch deep and rake lightly until covered.
COMPLETE COVERAGE – This 3 lb. bag covers up to 750 sq. ft. for new lawns or up to 1,500 sq. ft. when overseeding. Germination occurs within 14–21 days. Water seeded areas twice daily for 5–10 minutes, then continue watering once daily until grass reaches a height of 2–2.5 inches.
LAWN CARE TIPS – Founders' Reserve thrives in all soil types, including sandy, clay, and sandy loam. No aeration is required, and the seed is highly effective for erosion control. Begin mowing once new grass reaches 3–4 inches in height. For best results, use in combination with any of our soil amendments or fertilizers.
